Hide Bootstrap nav on click: Meteor

Seen a few comments about the version of Bootstrap commonly used by Meteor developments, the menu toggle doesnt close when a user clicks on a link.

The solution below is added to the JavaScript associated with whatever the template for the nav-bar is called. When a user clicks anywhere, the nab-bar collapse is hidden.

Just makes the UI better.

Template.nav.events({
‘click .addInterest’:function(){
//$(".create-pattern-box").css(‘visibility’, ‘visible’);
$(".create-pattern-box").removeClass("hidden");
},
‘click’:function(){
$(".navbar-collapse").collapse(‘hide’);
}
})

New Website Up and Ready To Go!

After spending sometime talking to peers in the web industry, I deduced that HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap and AngularJS are the current industry standard for web design. At this day of age, responsive web design that is easily viewable by desktops, mobile and tablets is a must. WordPress is still the CMS of choice for most small to medium businesses.

After spending time planning carefully what I wanted, I built a website to promote professional skills. There were bumps along the way, but it is all a part of the learning experience. Even though this website only took me three hours to get up and running smoothly, each hour took a day to plan ahead. Planning is the longest and most essential part of good web project management.

Now I am ready to take on new clients, business opportunities and adventures. Confident knowing that I can take the web head on.

Pleas contact if you are interested in working together to build a web project.
